I have to say that we have produced some of the best mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters in the world. From Georges St-Pierre to Rory MacDonald, these athletes have put Canada on the map when it comes to the world of MMA.
George St-Pierre
First on the list is Georges St-Pierre, also known as “GSP.” He is a legend in the sport and is widely considered one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. Born in Quebec, St-Pierre was a dominant force in the UFC’s welterweight division. He held the title twice and defended it nine times, which is a record in the UFC. His skill in grappling and striking made him a well-rounded fighter and a crowd favorite.
Rory MacDonald
Next up is Rory MacDonald, who was born in British Columbia. Like GSP, MacDonald also competed in the welterweight division of the UFC. He is known for his technical striking and submission skills, and his fights always provided excitement for fans. MacDonald also competed in Bellator MMA, where he became the welterweight champion.
